Non-Iodized Sea Salt Mixture: Dissolve half of a Tablespoon of fine non-iodized sea salt into 1 liter or 34oz of distilled or purified bottled water.

H2Ocean Healing Soak: Dissolve 1 once of H2Ocean Natural Saline Sea Salt Soak Concentrate into 1 quart or 32  ounces of purified bottled water.

Be aware that the skin around a new piercing may be swollen, red and/or tender for a few days. The site might even bleed slightly.

To prevent infection and to encourage healing please do the following:

⦁    If you've had your tongue, lip or cheek pierced, rinse with either an antiseptic mouthwash or Non-Iodized Sea Salt mixture, after each meal and before you go to bed. Use a new toothbrush to avoid introducing old bacteria into your mouth. Once the area has healed, you can take the jewelry out at night and brush it to remove plaque, then put it back in.

⦁    Please be patient, your new piercing is not going to heal overnight, it will take time to heal.

⦁    Be sure to wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching your piercing.

⦁    Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, rivers, lakes and other bodies of water while your piercing is healing.

⦁    Do not fiddle or play with your new piercing. Do not touch or twist the jewelry unless you're cleaning it. Excessive rubbing or friction can irritate your skin and delay healing.

⦁    Keep the jewelry in place. Most piercings heal within 8 weeks, but some may take several months or longer to heal. If you want to maintain your new piercing, leave the jewelry in place during the whole time, this will help keep the hole from closing. After the piercing heals, you may see an indentation or hole when you remove the jewelry.

The healing process usually takes 6 to 8 weeks, however this may vary per person and per type of piercing. Some piercings may take longer to heal. Remember you have an open wound on your body, so treat your body well.
